First off, I have never been a big makeup/hair person. That all went to my two younger sisters. They became a hair stylist and a professional makeup artist. I’m more of the exercise type of person. It has taken me years to really get into doing my hair and makeup. Once I started taking the time, I ended up loving it!!! It has been so fun to pamper myself and take the time to make myself look better. I feel better about myself everyday!!

Being a working mom, it has been really hard to find the right balance between making sure I look nice and being on time. There have been many days where I have shown up to work with a ponytail and my makeup done very quickly. I decided I needed to make a change, for my own self-confidence and for the safety of others hahahaha.

As I was looking at my morning schedule, I found that I had about 5-7 minutes to do my makeup. I had to make sure I was ready when the girls woke up so that I could focus on them and getting them out the door. This did not leave me much time for my makeup. I even thought about not wearing it because I didn’t have any time. I WAS VERY WRONG!! If you have the kind of time that I do, then you still have time to apply fabulous looking makeup!

I wanted to find some easy makeup applying tips that would speed up my morning routine, but still leave me looking decent. I found the makeup brand, “Too Faced” and instantly fell in love! Not only does their makeup smell amazing, but they have little pamphlets in their eye shadow of different ways you can apply the makeup. They give you great options and different looks so you can switch up your look everyday with very little effort!

I also used my sister who is a makeup artist for extra help. She told me the basics that I would need for every day use. These are:

  • Foundation Primer
  • Foundation
  • Tinted bb and/or cc cream (BB cream is Brighten Cream and CC cream is Cover and Correct Cream. Use this if you have a lot of blemishes and dark spots)*
  • Tinted powder (only if you don’t like foundation)
  • Mascara
  • Eye shadow
  • Chapstick and/or lipgloss

With these basic makeup supplies, you can look like you have spent an hour just on your makeup!

  1. Apply your foundation primer. I usually put a dot on my finger and then touch around my face. Then, using a makeup sponge, rub the primer in.
  2. *Apply your bb and/or cc cream if you don’t want to wear foundation. Follow the same procedure as the primer.
  3. Apply your foundation with the same procedure as the primer.
  4. Apply your eye shadow. There are so many options here! I used the palette, Razzle Dazzle Berry from Too Faced. I picked the style “Dazzle Your Razzle.” Usually, you are going to pick the lightest color and apply it on the corner of your eyelid.
  5. Apply the mascara
  6. Pick an awesome color of lip gloss to make you pop! Or if you don’t like a lot of color, use chap stick or a light color of lip gloss, just so that your lips stay moisturized.

Even though you have a crazy life, you can still look fabulous for your jam packed day!!! Take the 5-7 minutes and fabulize yourself!
